Laurie Zabele Cawley


Laurie is an alumnus of Kent State University where she majored in Dance. Before moving to the area in 2000, she danced professionally for fifteen years with Harbinger Dance Company, People Dancing, Whitley Setrakian and Dancers, Ann Arbor Dance Works, Eisenhower Dance Ensemble, and as a guest performer with many other artists. Laurie has trained with Dan Wagoner, Bill Evans, Diann Sichel, Joann Danto, Lynn Deering, Lisa Nowak, David DeMarie, and Luigi. She has performed alongside artists from companies including Bill T. Jones, Martha Graham, David Parsons, Mark Morris, Alvin Ailey, Netherlands Dance Theatre, and Akron Ballet. Ms. Zabele was Director of the Dance program at Oakland Community College, and has taught at Marygrove College, Oakland University, American College Dance Festival, and several private studios. She was an Artist in Residence at La Dance, and also taught in the Detroit, Troy and Bloomfield, Michigan school districts as part of their Artist in Residency programs, and has choreographed concert pieces, industrial shows, and musicals. She teaches modern dance for The School of the Arts and is a member of Saratoga’s newest dance ensemble, Tangofusion.

 

 

 

 

 

Robert Maiorano


Robert was a scholarship student at the School of American Ballet, where he performed in The Nutcracker for six years. He joined the New York City Ballet at age 15. For the next twenty-two years he danced as a leading soloist during New York City Ballet’s golden age. Nine of the 20th century’s greatest choreographers made ballets for him. Since his dancing career, Mr. Maiorano has taught ballet for a number of schools, and acted in roles ranging from Prometheus to Dracula; has authored three children’s books, an award winning autobiography, a critically acclaimed book of George Balanchine making his last ballet, and a couple of plays. In 2002, he choreographed Ode to September 11. Currently he teaches Advanced Students and Adult Ballet at the School of the Arts and Glens Falls Ballet, choreographs and gives lectures and Master Classes throughout the country.

 

 

 

 



Raul P Martinez


A graduate of the National School of Dance at the National School of Fine Arts (INBA-Mexico City), Raul is a Master Ballet Instructor, Régisseur, and Artistic Director in Classical Dance. He also trained in Cuban technique and the Vaganova Method with various instructors in Vienna, Austria and Mexico City. He has performed classical, modern and neoclassical roles in Latin America, the United States and Europe. Performance experience includes The Mexican National Dance Company (Mexico), Vienna State Opera Ballet (Austria), The Ballet of the Colon Theater (Argentina), The Neoclassical Ballet of Latin America (Mexico), and Danzart (Mexico). He has also appeared as a guest soloist for a number of dance companies and ballet ensembles. Raul has taught classical ballet in the U.S. and Mexico at all levels and ages at both privately and publicly funded institutions including the following private academies, high schools, and universities: Sul Ross State University; Emma Willard School; Empire State College (Credit Evaluator); Mexico City Ballet; Universidad Autonoma de Chihuahua; National Mexican Ballet; Instituto de Cultura de Morelia; Instituto de Educacion Continua de Guanajuato; Instituto de las Artes de Ensenada; Universidad Autonoma de Colima; Universidad Autonoma de Mexico; Malta Ballet; American Dance Center and National Museum of Dance. Raul is a Ballet Master Instructor at School of the Arts, Malta Ballet, Total Body Trifecta and a private coach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 



Elaina


Formally from Boston and New York City   Elaina is a well know professional performer, choreographer, and instructor of Middle Eastern dance with many years of teaching experience in the style of elegant classic American and modern Egyptian belly dancing.  Prior to relocating to the Capital District, she has performed as a soloist in the finest hotels, clubs, and resorts all over the U.S and Canada.    Currently the director of "SHOW TIME BELLY DANCERS"    All levels of dance are taught from beginner to advanced.
